The 181st International Instructor Course: A Blend of Training and Leisure in Sardinia (Italy)

The highly anticipated ITF technical event in Italy, the International Instructor Course, was successfully held from September 20th to 22nd in the beautiful setting of the Horse Country Hotel in Arborea (OR), Sardinia, thanks to the organization of Master Christian Oriolani and Master Silvia Farigu, supported by FITAE-ITF and the TKD SARDEGNA TEAM members.

The international course was taught by the ITF Technical Committee, specifically Grand Master Hector Marano (IX dan), Grand Master Kim Ung Lan (IX dan), and Master Virginia Dionisi (VII dan). The 168 participants from 15 European countries, ready to begin the course, were welcomed by Master Rachele Fogli, president of FITAE-ITF, and the Technical Committee members were warmly welcomed by the audience.

The training focused on numerous technical aspects, developed very professionally by the instructors in all technical sessions.

The participants were enthusiastic both during the training sessions and during their free time, pleasantly spent outdoors on the beautiful hotel beach or in the pool. FITAE and the organizers were honored to welcome some of the most prominent figures from the AETF: President Master Leo Oros Duek, Vice President Master Virginia Dionisi, Secretary General Master Tasev, Master Muresan, a member of the European Technical Committee, and Master Barada, a multiple champion and member of the Board of Directors. Members of the FITAE Board were also present, including Masters Fogli, Maragoni, Iovane, and Sabum Pegoraro, along with numerous FITAE Masters and Instructors who enthusiastically participated in this technical event, which had not been held in Italy for years.
A brief thank-you ceremony took place in the hotel amphitheater, where personalized Sardinian handicrafts were presented to the Technical Committee members, the FITAE Board, GM Bos who was present at the event, Master Da Silva to celebrate many years of friendship, and Master Muresan for his continuous collaboration with the TKD Sardegna team. The organizers, together with FITAE, presented all participants with an event souvenir t-shirt with the inscription “Impossible without you,” which was very well-received and appreciated.President Master Fogli congratulated the organizers on their excellent work and thanked all participants, from red belts to IX dan, who worked together to share their passion for Taekwondo in this long journey of growth.

Master Oriolani’s words:

“The International Instructor Course (IIC) was a resounding success and I am very happy with how the event went. We did not expect such a large turnout and so many positive comments. We are still receiving thank-you messages from many people who were happy to join our event. For us, it was a unique event, the largest we have ever organized: 170 people and 15 nations is a lot for a course hosted on an island! I owe a huge thank you to many people, and I would like to start with FITAE, which authorized us and helped us carry out this project. A special thanks goes to Master Luca Maragoni for his great work, and to GM Bos because he was the first person to promise us his support and kept it. We sincerely thank the ITF Technical Committee, GM Marano, GM Lan, and Master Virginia Dionisi, who were professional, humble, and very kind to us and our family. A big thank you to all the participants, to all the participating nations, to AETF President Master Leo Oros Duek, and to the Board members M. Muresan, Master Barada, and Mr. Yavor Tasev. Last but not least, to the TKD Sardegna Team, to all the instructors and relatives who made themselves available to facilitate our work.
As printed on the IIC t-shirt: “IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU”.
Thanks, Master Christian Oriolani”

The event was a significant gathering of Taekwon-Do practitioners and a testament to the growing popularity of the sport in Italy.
We look forward to seeing you in Italy for the many upcoming events organized by FITAE!
