AETF Board & Committees Coordination Meeting
On the 19th of November 2025, the AETF Board held an online coordination meeting with all AETF Committees to review progress since the joint meeting in Spain and outline priorities for the coming months leading into the 2026 European Championships in Maribor.
AETF President Master Tomaz Barada thanked all committee members for their dedication, stressing that regular joint meetings are essential as AETF continues to strengthen its structures and modernise European Taekwon-Do.
Key Updates from Committees
Tournament & Umpire Development

Both committees reported strong cooperation and regular meetings.

Preparations continue for improved event organisation, clearer workflows, and enhanced support for organisers.

The Umpire Committee highlighted major progress in education, including:

A series of online training modules

A practical-focused European Umpire Qualification Course planned for February

Ongoing work on modernising education, assessment, and long-term umpire development

These initiatives aim to raise the overall standard of officiating and ensure consistency across AETF events.
Technical & Coach Education

The Technical Committee is preparing for a European Technical Course planned for Mid 2026, with a call for hosts to be issued shortly.

The Coaches Committee is developing a new Coach Certification Programme, intended to harmonise coaching standards and integrate with the upcoming AETF online learning platform.
Health, Fair Play & Inclusion

The Anti-Doping & Health Committee continues work on education, injury prevention, support for medical teams, and the introduction of the AETF Fair Play Award, planned to launch in 2026.

The Inclusion Committee reported successful adapted divisions at recent events and is preparing an inclusion demonstration/activity for the 2026 European Championships.
Athlete Experience

The Athletes Committee is developing an Athletes’ Corner for the European Championships—featuring a social and recovery area, plus short educational sessions to support athlete wellbeing and connection.
Media, Marketing & Sponsorship

The Media Committee continues to develop the AETF website, communications routines and long-term media strategy, including enhanced video and event coverage.

The Marketing Committee presented a new AETF Brand Book and outlined a modern, data-driven approach to sponsorship, focusing on long-term partnerships and measurable value.
Development, Governance & Legal

The Development Committee has now met with 17 member countries and is preparing a three-year development strategy alongside the launch of the AETF Online Learning Platform in early 2026.

The Revisory Committee reinforced its supportive and risk-based approach to governance and compliance.

The Legal Committee continues to assist with statutory work and supports all committees on legal or ethical matters.
