Romanian Taekwon-do ITF Federation Holds Federal Elections in Romania

On 30 January 2026, the Romanian Taekwon-do ITF Federation held its Electoral General Assembly in Târgu Mureș, Romania, bringing together representatives of affiliated member clubs from across the country.

The Assembly was legally constituted, with 40 voting members present out of 43 affiliated clubs, reflecting strong participation and engagement within the federation.

Unanimous Re-election of the President

A key outcome of the General Assembly was the unanimous re-election of Mr. Cosmin Oprescu as President of the Romanian Taekwon-do ITF Federation. All 40 votes cast were in favour, reaffirming the full confidence and trust of the member clubs in his leadership, vision, and commitment to the development of Taekwon-do ITF in Romania.

This result stands as a clear recognition of the achievements of the previous mandate and provides a strong mandate for the continuation and expansion of strategic projects for the future.

Election of the Board of Directors

Following the presidential vote, elections were held for the remaining leadership positions, resulting in the following composition of the Board of Directors:

  • President: Cosmin Oprescu
  • Vice President: Marius Ionicescu
  • Vice President: « Vacant position at the moment »
  • Secretary General: Master Goron Dan Sorin Constantin
  • Technical Director: Master Mureșan Alexandru
  • Federal Secretary: Nicolae-Cristian Popa

Additionally, the following members were elected to complete the Board of Directors:

  • Lazurca Alin Romulus
  • Matei Alecsandra Cristina
  • Master Hondru Mihai
  • Petre Romeo
  • Toma Ștefan Liviu

The newly elected leadership team expressed its deep gratitude for the support and confidence shown by the member clubs. This strong vote of trust not only confirms the federation’s past accomplishments, but also reinforces the responsibility assumed by the Federal Office to deliver ambitious, sustainable projects aimed at strengthening performance sport, education, and organizational development in the years ahead.
