AETF and Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa Sign Letter of Intent on Scientific Cooperation

The All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation is pleased to announce the signing of a Letter of Intent with Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, Poland, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership focused on sports science, athlete well-being, and evidence-based training.

The document was signed by Professor Bogusław Przywora, Acting Rector and Vice-Rector for Science and Research of Jan Długosz University, and Ms. Katarzyna Cupryś, Chair of the AETF Anti-Doping & Health Promotion Committee. The initiative was supported by Professor Jacek Wąsik, Director of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, whose scientific work focuses on biomechanics, training theory, and evidence-based approaches to Taekwon-Do coaching.

This partnership marks an important step in bringing together scientific expertise and practical coaching experience. Through joint initiatives, both organisations aim to support athlete health, enhance training quality, and promote the long-term development of Taekwon-Do across Europe.

The Letter of Intent outlines several areas of collaboration, including:

  • Joint scientific research projects related to Taekwon-Do performance, biomechanics, training methodology, and athlete well-being;
  • Development and validation of Evidence-Based Training (EBT) methodologies;
  • Creation of educational resources and training materials for coaches;
  • Scientific consultation for AETF training recommendations and guidelines;
  • Pilot projects within Taekwon-Do clubs focusing on training load monitoring, athlete health indicators, and injury prevention;
  • Organisation of seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and scientific forums;
  • Strengthening international scientific cooperation and sharing research outcomes with both the academic community and the wider Taekwon-Do movement.

A key objective of the partnership is the creation of a European knowledge base that will support coaches, athletes, and member federations through access to scientifically validated training practices and educational resources.

The collaboration also opens opportunities for future joint applications under European funding programmes, including Erasmus+ Sport and Horizon Europe, supporting the development of international research initiatives and innovation in Taekwon-Do.

“Our goal is not only to advance scientific knowledge, but also to ensure that it reaches coaches and athletes in a practical and accessible form. This partnership creates an excellent opportunity to achieve that.” – Katarzyna Cupryś, Chair of the AETF Anti-Doping & Health Promotion Committee
